Barcelona had a total of 13 SoccerStarz figurines released as part of the 2016/17 Collection., which included 3 goal keepers!

Manchester City manager was on the look out for a keeper to replace Joe Hart and his eyes turned to former club Barcelona and their German keeper Ter Stegen, however it was actually Claudio Bravo who would make the move from the Nou Camp to the Etihad. Production on Bravo was already under way before his move, so some stock was released of Bravo in 2016/17 Barca kit. The Catalan giants recruited Dutch #1 Jasper Cillessen from Eredivisie side Ajax, to replace the departed Bravo, so finally Cillessen would be released following his cancelled Holland national figure from the 2014 World Cup Collection.

Lionel Messi was re sculpted, not before time too and this new sculpt is superb ad even features him in his trademark celebration pose with his fingers pointing to the sky. Messi featured in the Elite Foil Bag in 2016/17 Away kit which was exclusive to the bag, he was joined in the Elite bag by home kit figures of Neymar Jr, Luis Suarez and Arda Turan, with Turan getting his first Barcelona release after his initial release for Turkey as part of the Panini SuperStars of Football collection. Messi, Neymar, Suarez and Turan single blisters came with a mini Top trumps card, as did the blister of Croatian Ivan Rakitic.

The remainder of the release is made up of previously released figures, which are Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, The Barcelona figures do not have a sponsor on their shirt but it is classed as the 2016/17 kit, the lack of a sponsor badge was at the request of the club
