Manchester United 2013 Champions
20th League Title Celebration Pack
Under the leadership of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United secured thier 20th League Title, over taking arch rivals Liverpool as the side to win the most top flight domestic league titles!
After losing the title to noisy neighbours Manchester City with the last kick of the game in the 2011/12 season, Ferguson was detremined to reclaim the coverted Premiership crown and after doing so stepped down as Manchester United, leaving an incredible dynasty behind him.
SoccerStarz chose to commemorate this historic 20th title winning side by releasing this celebration pack. The pack consists of 24 figures, the only 2 players not included who played that season are Buttner and Anderson. SoccerStarz had already released Buttner in single blister format, so it was a huge surprise to see him ommited from the packs inclusion. I can only assume the reason Buttner was not included was perhaps due to a shortage of the figure, he practically sold out upon release, so i imagine getting more produced for inclusion in the pack would have significantly delayed the packs release. As for Anderson he had yet to be sculpted due to his constant rumours to be leaving Old Trafford, a shame as to have the entire squad in a pack would have been superb.
Sir Alex Ferguson was joined in the pack by coach Mike Phelan, with the Phelan figure being exclusivly released inside the box set, not in single blister, however he was scheduled for inclusion in Blind Bag Series 3, however he would be VERY RARE. Those who collect the collector cards saw this pack as a must in order to obtain the Mike Phelan card. It is also worth mentioning that the Collector Cards had been UPDATED, so they were now all generic, the ones released as part of series 1 (De Gea, Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, Giggs, Nani, Rooney and Young) were all re printed to look the same as all the other cards, with the info box being removed.
4 SoccerStarz were chosen to be on BLACK base inside the box, those 4 being Van Persie, Ferdinand, Giggs and Rooney. Personally speaking i think it spoils the look of the box set for those who planned to keep it in MINT condiiton, it would have been better to have them all on 1 generic base colour, whether that be GREEN or indeed RED. I spoke to many collectors regarding this and most agreed that the pack would have been enhanced by them all appearing on RED base, especially as some in the 2012/13 kit were not released inside a blind bag, so there was no opportunity to obtain them on a RED base. The pack was limited to a mere 750 pieces World wide and came with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
